I plan to lube both clutch and choke cables next time I'll go to my winter bike storage,. I know PJ1 is good stuff for this purpose, but I don't have any for the moment, but I have plenty of silicone lube (spray cans) that I've used for all sort of things except cable lubing.

I know by now that I shouldn't use WD40 for that purpose but I wonder if any of you has already tried silicone lube, with or without success.

I will use this inexpensive but handy gadget:

I have been using silicone for many years on cables, it has never failed me. Its much cheaper than the PJ1 products. I have one of those cable lube adapters also, they are a great investment.

I bought mine for roughly 7$ from MikeXS on line, who sells parts for XS650s, but I wouldn't be surprised if chacal sells them.

Yep. Mine says "YAMAHA" on it. Given to me by my local dealer when I bought an SR500 back in the late '70s; and I use it to this day.
