To make a long story short, I had a brain fart, spun out in some gravel and tipped over my bike! Trying to salvage what dignity I had left I hurried and picked it up, hopped on and started it up and took off. I rode it the 3 or 4 miles home but it was real doggy over about 4500 RPM and it was smoking out of the exhaust for about the first 1/2 mile. The next morning there was a very sizeable puddle of oil under it and it was still dripping a little from a tube underneath. I'm a complete NEWB so what does all this mean!! I haven't ridden it since!! Should I put more oil in it and if so what is recommended. HELLLLP!!!!!

It would help to verify where that tube is attached. Only one I can think of that would do that is the airbox drain tube. This means oil is in the airbox. This could have happened when the bike was on it's side and oil filled the airbox via the crankcase vent tube which connects from the tranny cover to the airbox. Check the puddle by smearing a bit on your finger and smelling for fuel. I would also check the oil level. If it is too high then one or more carb floats could have stuck when it tipped over and is allowing fuel into the oil. Tap the sides of the carbs to seat the floats and change the oil and filter if this is so.

Exactly what Blue said -- betcha your bike was on the left side - correct?

Probably a good time to do a complete once-over and fluid replacement...

You guessed it Altus!! It was on the left side! What is the significance of that? Is there anything else I should do to clean out the air box? BlueMaxim I will have to check the routing of the tube the oil is coming out of, but I bet you’re right about the vent tube.

What kind of oil/oil filter do you recommend? Also, if you happen to know, how much oil does it take? Is that a question that a dealership might know? Thanks a bunch for the help guys!!!

The crankcase vent tube to the airbox is on the left side. Betcha there's a good layer of oil in your airbox, and possibly soaking your air filter.
If so, you'll need to replace the filter and wash out the inside of the airbox with something that cuts oil -- like dish soap.
Oh - remember to disconnect the crankcase tube when doing this!!!!

Fram's CH6003 oil filter is just fine, I'm not sure but think yours takes that one as well. As for oil - lets not go there (again). Pick a good quality 20w50 oil and you'll be fine. I like Shell's Rotella T. Should take about 2.5 to 3 litres.
