For anyone that had taken out or is thinking about taking out the airbox and using pods(i know they are frowned upon) here is an idea for extra storage. My bike was missing the "airbox to carbs" boots and my airbox was mickey moused together when I bought it(fiberglass, bondo and rattle can black) it wasnt pretty. My 82 750 j doesnt have alot of storage on it so instead I kept the filter box and cut off the wider end of the airbox and blocked it off with a piece of metal sealed it up and painted it black.Me i put my fuse block inside.Keep it out of any moisture.

Gives you a bit more storage.

I take the easier route and carry a magnetic tank bag.

That's not very inventive now is it? Doesn't keep the fuses or your lunch dry either :p lol bet the bike was a sight easier to tune though...

Nice idea if the airbox is already butchered like yours mike, or if you're determined to go "pod"...

The airbox was already butchered beytond using.this is a budget bike but it has to look nice.I am not a fan of sticking stuff to my freshly painted tank iether.Saddlebags no problem but there are not cheap for somthing that looks nice.

That is a nice bit of repurposing. The one thing that I miss when I'm riding the Seca is being able to grab the odd item at the store if I'm just riding around town (no bags). That's the one area where my scooter wins every time.

Lol! While I always have time for a 10 yr Laphoaig Cask Strength, I'd never bring it on a bike. Now, a Balvenie Portwood...
