Here's what I've done to my bike.
Started with an 82 750 maxim. Totally stock, 4500 miles. Picked it up for $1200.
First added the 4-1 exhaust. Sounds sweet.
Then ditched the stock gauges, bars And square headlight for the trailtech viper, super bike bars and small dual headlights.
Swapped out the tank for one from an xs1100. Had to modify a little to work but turned out nice after the sweet paint.
Then ditched the seat for a homemade fiberglass pan with an inch of foam and covered by vinyl my awesome seamstress sister sewed.
Switched out the turn signals for smaller brighter ones( used a flasher I had laying around the garage from an old car).
Added some rear shocks Santa brought from Mikesxs. Thanks Santa (wife)
Then put in a new clutch and had my mechanic buddy from procaliber vancouver rejet, sync and tune the carbs, adjusted the valves with a few new shims.
Took for its maiden voyage today and yes, it rocks.

Looks good. I like the blue color and the rear shocks. Was it a pain to swap out the headlight amd gauges

    Thanks.
The headlight and gauge swap was pretty straight forward. Thanks to this site there are plenty of wiring diagrams to simplify things. The only thing I don't have now is a fuel gauge, but with the new tank capacity I have more fuel than any of my riding partners so I just fill up when they have to stop.

I like that very much. My son likes that look and wants to add to our 82' Seca. Was it a straight up fit or did you have to carve it up and/or make mounts?

Love the rear shocks...so much more tough.

I had to make some mounts front and rear. Also hammered (a half inch or so) in the tank on the bottom to help it sit lower on the front. The shocks are a great improvement over stock.

As far as the pan, just had to beltsand the upper front to give some clearance for the pipes.
