Are you talking about a petcock like this one?

That is the one I had on my Maxim-X, I replaced it with this one:

    It looks like this:

Don't know if it will fit your bike nor if they are still available.

I'm far from fabulous, but I make a point of taking pictures of almost everything when I fix my bikes.

That is a good idea on anything, lots of pictures. But I mean, I have been looking at petcocks all morning, not a single one have that elbow on it, and they all looked a little off compared to mine.

Reading about it, sounds like the 31A-24500-02 replaced the 31A-24500-01, which was used on the 1983 XJ900R Seca, and a bunch of Maxims. When looking for other parts, 1983 XJ900 Seca parts seem to be pretty interchangeable on the XJ750R, so it should be the right one. I am going to measure the bolt pattern and make sure the sizing is the same, just in case.

Your bike and my Seca 900 actually share lots of parts, I mean, body parts are basically all the same.
I 'm waiting for some cool weather to start working on it, it is still pretty cold here in Quebec these days, too cold to work in a old barn.

Yeah, I hear its still pretty cold over there. Being in the shadow of the rockies we get Chinooks which really help.

Seems like that petcock should work. Noticed while Googling that its seems to be the most expensive petcock on the face of the planet. Its like $90 - $150, and in the suggestion box at the side/bottom of every website there are other petcocks, and they all cost $20. -_- May just epoxy mine until after the inspection. I just want the fork seals done and a real plate, then I will look into petcocks and brake pads next month. The pads are still quite passable, but I would like to get new ones just because it seems like a good idea.

Jee, costs have exploded since I bought mine! Gasoline-proof epoxy sounds like a very good "B" plan.

It will get past the inspection, then next month will be petcock month.
