For Sale '85 Maxim XJ700 (airhead) - 4000 Mile Bike - SOLD

    I am looking to sell this bike I worked on some over the summer and was going to finsih over the winter but could use the garage space.

    The bike was not left outside to rot and only has some minor surface rust that would easily cleanup. Pipe and mufflers are nice, paint nice for original.

    The started with the carbs and have it running but should have floats and sync done.
    The tank was cleaned out (varnish) and I have POR 15 but not sure it needs it.
    I rode the bike about 10-15 miles with another tank and it ran pretty well!

    I am firm on the $1000 price and any questions or inspections are welcome. I am in York, PA.

    I am not listing on Craigslist, ebay or anything else it's just here for XJ guys.

    Pretty nice looking bike.

    I would suggest you clean it up some more (a little polishing here and buffing there) and sell it in the spring. You'll get at least $700 more in the spring when people are looking.

    My shop is too full otherwise I'd buy it as an investment to flip in the spring.

    Off-season means lower prices.
    Pimping and a "Sales Portrait" photograph bring-in dough.

    You'll get top dollar if you sell it at the beginning of the season as a "Running Bike" ... ready to go.

    Fix the seat; too!

    I like it - Nice looking XJ and the mileage is great! Price for that low of mileage is fair.

    Problem is your 1151 miles away from me. If I lived half as close I would have to make you an offer. If it was summer and I had three days to blow and a little extra cash for the adventure I would come get it.

    Shame to sell it though it matches your car so well!

    Definitely consider putting just 1 hour a night in cleaning, polishing etc. By spring time it will sparkle and get a lot of extra $$$$ for the effort, especially as Rick says "Running Bike".
