Well not all that nice, he does say he isn't sure if all the parts are there? Why is that? Where did he get these parts from? It's hard to tell from the pics but that jumbled pile top right is impossible to decipher it's all there. At least the float pillars appear intact. The diaphragms are often hard to come by and pricey and the one top left appears to have issues with deterioration.

I found a complete set pulled from a running bike in decent shape (almost clean) for $35. But if you need parts and you see what you need it might be worth it. I would ask as many questions as you feel you need to of the seller first. If they want to sell and aren't scamming they should be willing to answer anything about the parts.

Ask away. I am the seller. As I said in this thread:

This is that set of carbs in the condition in which I received them. I feel like the description on the Ebay post accurately and completely describes what I know about them, but I will try to answer any questions anyone has.

    Here's the thing.

I have TWO complete spare racks of carbs for 550s. The BETTER of the two cost me $35 shipped, off eBay. Both are complete, and assembled. (Were, anyway.)

What you have would certainly be a good investment for a 550 owner; but you're simply asking too much. Sorry just being honest. If you want to sell them, drop the price.

Not trying to debate with you guys, but the next cheapest set of XJ550 carbs I could find on Ebay is exactly twice the price of mine. Granted, that set is fully assembled.

They are what they are, and they are there if someone is interested.

Your original post didn't id you as the seller, why not just tell us you're the seller straight away? Instead we have to hold a mirror up to your ebay account to figure it out :)

But seriously, in the manner in which you've listed them bigfitz is right, they're too high. Are they worth that much? Quite possibly and for someone in need maybe more. The trick for you which should be easy since there is an excellent write up on here detailing ALL the parts that should be there-and you could ask on here if you are unsure after going through them to determine the fact or not-would be to carefully lay out each carb with it's associated parts and then you could determine if the parts are all there and more importantly you could show it. I would also put up better pictures showing the critical parts better. Like the diaphragms and pillars. And a more thorough description would be a benefit.

And trust me when I say you can't simply base a price on one other similar/same item on ebay. I've seen the same beat up/rusted gas tank for a seca on ebay for $300-it will never sell at that price. And a NOS set of 550 carbs for almost a grand-likewise will never sell. There is always more than one way to skin a cat or buy a used item-so the actual fair market value is what you have to list at. You're asking price might be below that value but not the way they seem at the moment due to the information lacking in the listing.

Of course if you're willing to wait you might still find a buyer-could be a long wait though.

Sorry about the confusion. I thought it would be apparent that they were mine, but hindsight being what it is, I'm not sure why I thought that.

I almost always have stuff on Ebay. Some things sell fast, some don't. It costs me nothing to have it listed.
