right now i only got one cylinder firing i know one of my coil packs cracked open so that needs to be change and my spark plugs gaps are a little off right now, would this cause the no fire in 3 cylinders, also i have a extra set of coils i will try but what is the firing order of the xj 750 seca and in what direction does the cylinder go?

Firing order is not important, one coil sparks 1/4 at the same time & the other sparks 2/3 at the same time (known as wasted spark).

I'd fit new plugs first off as they can foul easily & are cheap to do. Also I'd advise testing all the coils you have & fitting ones that are in spec (and ideally uncracked).

If the only ones you have in spec are cracked you could try painting them with liquid electrical tape to keep moisture out while you search for good ones.

By the way, if you really want to know, firing order is 1342 IIRC (1 is on left of bike as you sit on it, 4 is right)

Coil specs are-: Primary 2.5Ohm +/-10% Secondary 11.0K +/-20%, both at 68f (do the checks with coils unplugged & with plug caps not fitted.

Also test your plug caps separately, they should be 5.5K outer cyls & 10K inner cyls for US bikes (others have 5.5k on all 4) lower resistance is fine, higher is bad.

As you have resistor caps, when you get your new spark plugs do NOT get resistor type. These bikes don't spark too strong anyway, give it every chance :) Stock is NGK BP7ES

Also, try and get a Haynes manual if possible (or any manual you can). This is where I'm getting this info from, not my "XJ wizardry" lol

That would be more likely a carb issue than ignition TBH, but go through ignition anyway as you have cracked coils, and if your carbs are known to be good, a backfire after you try to start could also be a bad battery/starter motor...
