Rofl! Check the radar lol :p I made it out to my trails and tore it up for about 4 hours. About 36 degrees and my bike is jetted for around 70 so she was a little high on idle but all good.

Sounds like we are. I'm in Inverness. I make it out to the Ozello Trail from time to time. Know of any riding clubs locally that are geared to our vintage bikes?

Don't rule out the starter itself as well; if it doesn't spin with enough force or fast enough, the starter clutch won't "engage" either.

Eliminate EVERYTHING possible before you decide to split the cases.

Sounds like that battery is a little weak, really it should hold around 12.65 for days/weeks.

What happens if you leave it longer?

12.6 is what I look for. Load tested it today, dropped below 12 at 3rd test. checked it later,12.3.Gonna check starter, all connections too, like Fitz said. Observed lately it won't hold 12.6 for days,so yeah battery seems to be dying.

What does the battery show if it's left for longer (week plus?)

Just interested, it does sound weak & I'd replace it even if the starter needed work too since batteries don't cost a lot now (Polock linked to a gel battery somewhere that cost him $30 IIRC and he's been using for a year or so I think)
