Yeah, my participation would be similar to the guy drinking the Guinness at on the side watching the race

Oh yes, I have no doubt. And probably many others before as well, as is the case in my other forum, LOL. But I have never seen this particular clip. Every time I see a clip new from the TT I am always amazed. I really like this one especially the scene where the rider is airborne going past that old cottage with the girl looking on. That's incredibly cool! And also the part where the rider is negotiating the curve on one wheel. Seen other clips with that before but this was this was very good footage. Seen some other clips in the past featuring the crashes from the TT which were pretty spectacular as well. Would love to attend someday. One for the bucket list. :)

Wow, those guys must have solid brass clangers. Size of melons, I'd say.

Definitely not for the faint of heart.

I looked at your previous post too Foolber. I'll have to look into further, as that's some wicked fun.

I've been to the Isle of Man, Beautiful place. Yes they are a bit wacky, I talked to a few people about it when I was there, brass clangers indeed.

Seriously though, people die in that race most every year and nobody over there seems to even bat an eye 8O

don't get me wrong I'm all for it. I raced motocross growing up which I think gave me a real respect for the "extreme" sports if you will. There is nothing I have found in the world that gives you the same sensation as risking your own life for sport.

ha ha, i'm going there in 3 weeks time, but leaving before the tt starts.
preparations have been ongoing for the past few weeks but have been hampered by heavy snowfalls and blocked roads.
the worst affected areas being left whilst last, to give time for the snow to melt.
been about 6 times to watch tt, and its amazing, as you get to be really close up.
the northwest 200 in Ireland is a similar set up

Been to the TT twice, 2000 for the "New Millenium" and last time was 2007 for the Centenary. If I ever have the opportunity again I'll go to the "Manx" as it has the same quality of racing but things don't get quite as crazy.

Lets hope we actually get a Senior this year!!!! :?

Maxim-X, you should've gone in 2010 as well for the mountain course centenary (1907, 8 and 9 were on the St. Johns course as the bikes couldn't yet manage the mountain! :D )

That's when I was supposed to be going over, but I got taken out by a cage on May 19th GRRRR! so had to watch it from my hospital bed instead :(

Definitely want to get over there sometime soon, the MGP and Southern 100 are good too.... would really love to ride the mountain course with closed roads but would never be able to push as hard as the real guys do... They don't have balls they have GLOBES!!!!

was planning to do a roadtrip this year to the isle of man, but was a little late to the game and didn't manage to find any living arrangement bookable.. So, maybe next year.

How's the transportation between england and the isle of man during the TT? possible to get a bike over without booking in advance?

Broberg, not sure about booking in advance but either way you do it it'll be expensive during the 2 weeks. If you could travel there (if I remember correctly) just over a week before practice week starts it's quite a bit cheaper. (I worked out in '10 that I would've still saved money even paying for camping the extra ten days because of the price difference).

May be worth looking into, plus you get some time to explore the island without some of the madheads on plastic rockets throwing themselves at the scenery heh
