Ok I want to find out if anyone could help shine some light on a few items. I have a 81' Seca 750 and I want to swap out my perfectly good headlight and instrument panel (gauges) with a round headlight (7 or 8") and round gauges off a Yamaha of some other type. I would prefer black shells. Also, I would like a more simple stock indicator panel. I want to say the old Heritage has that set up but has a mechanical tach.(I need a electronic tach) I guess if I had to I could paint them if not black. If, I can find these parts I will sell or trade mine parts. The instrument panel I have, has a carbon fiber face plate. Really cool and easy to do...Thanks

I guess I am looking for some Maxim Parts....? Does the Maxim 650 have a electronic tach? Does anyone have Headlight and gauges for sale? Surely someone wants to donate or trade me for my Seca 750 parts?? Any takers??

I believe the 650 maxim does have mechanical tach. I think the only maxim gauge cluster that is black would be from the 83 midnight maxim which also has electronic tach. The rest have chrome housing if I'm not mistaken.

This is from the 83 midnight

When I have an issue like this, I like to use a process that I call "go to the local bike wreckers and walk around". May sound lame, but you'd be surprised how often it works.

Surely all 83 maxim 650 have electronic tachs. The midnight will be a lot harder to track down..How knows I may get lucky.

Quixote, I have located some gauges by just calling the closest cycle salvage (hour away). A "no brainer" for sure and they may even have a headlight too. Thank you for the wake up reply!
