Anyone out there have recommended insurance company. I'm currently with Progressive and for no apparent reason my premium jumped 30%.

Check country insurance. The cheapest for bikes i have found. I asked of curiosity and evem a hayabusa or an r1 for me is only 25 a month for full coverage. I pay considerably less on my macim x.

Thanks I''l try Country. Miles, what company are you using?

FYI - I would never use Geico as payouts take a long, long time and will shortchange you it you don't have a lawyer. But great if there are no claims.

Due diligence. The lowest rate isn't always the best deal. What are you getting for the price? Will a catastrophic, worst-case, claim be covered? What is the history of the insurer? DO they care for their customers in a timely manner, or do they wait as long as possible in the hopes that they won't need to pay out?

Only getting the minimums that your state requires is a fool's game.

I use Hagerty for my bikes. It runs about $200 for seven bikes.

insurance in canada it a fair bit more for the younger riders.

    a 21 year old co-worker has an 07 honda 125 and he pays $2400 a year

when I first put my 82 xs400 on the road they wanted 3000 a year so I told them to f-off and put it under my dads name.

I still havn't gotten a quote for my 750 but I doubt it'll be cheap..

for some reason now you can't do online quotes for these old bikes but I believe the quote I got for a 95 750 ( I think 95 is the oldest you can do an online quote for) was 1100 to 1500

I forget the exact number, but mine went up 15% or so, for no good reason, other than insurance companies up here are greedy b@stards.

    Pay $700-800 for the year.

AMA is constantly fighting insurance companies, because they try to raise everyone's insurance due to squid negligence. I sympathize with anyone under 30 trying to get insurance on a late model street bike.

I use Geico and pay about $100 a year for my 31 yr old bike with collectors plates.

State Farm is $80 per year for me. Not sure exactly at the moment, but I am above the minimums.

    CO mins:
Bodily Injury Liability (1 Person): $25,000
Bodily Injury Liability (All persons, 1 accident): $50,000
    Property Damage Liability: $15,000

Jeeps. Must suck to pay Canadian ins. Prices.

I also agree that paying the cheapest you can find is not nessarily the way to go.

I pay 20$ a month/240 a year, and have medical coverage that covers my health insurance deductible, as well as a half a mil coverage for liability, half a mil for bodilly injury for both me as well as a passenger, and 300k for property damage.

I'd rather pay a little more now, than to be laying in the hospital screwed if I only had 50k coverage.

Thing is odds are that if you get hit at any high speeds on a bike, it's going to be real expensive.

Oh and that's through American Family Ins.

Also, I should add - It would have only been 11$ a month for the basic coverage.
