Well, I thought I was going to be the Lone Wolf going out to Leesburg this Saturday for the Bikefest. My neighbor ended up joining me. We both had a great time. Got a little bit hot during the day but a couple of cold ones indoors kept us going. I wish I could have stayed longer and enjoyed the evening events. But being a family man, that was not in the cards. Many events were scheduled. I checked out the bike show at the Rat's Hole Saloon followed by the Ms Ratemate contest as you can see below. Thought I might share some of the sites from the day.

Can anyone identify what kind of XJ that rat bike is below?

I'd lay some money on it originally being a 750 Maxim - don't know what that front wheel is from though :)

I find after a bottle of Jagermeister all women are exceptionally attractive.

I think it may be a pre-'82 650 as I can't see any evidence of YICS from the picture. Not that easy to see though so could very well be wrong ;)

EDIT-: saying that, the valve cover does look possibly YICS type so I probably was wrong...

Allright I looked at the big photo,it might just be me but for me a rat bike is one that cosmetically is worn, outright stuffed, dinged, beaten but keeps on going the real deal is where it looks abandoned but mechanically is pretty good.
What the hell is that rolling piece of velcro? random chains, cam and other type, tools just stuck by lottery to wherever they might fit and tassles ffs someone give that man a Harley Ferguson and save that bike.

    YICS motor

    650 Max gauges

    7" round headlight

    YICS valve cover

    Walmart battery

Front rim may be a rear for a Honda CB

I'm thinking the spoke rim came off a 650 XS.
I like some rat bikes, but not the ones that look like it was made at Sanford & Sons Salvage Yard.

IMHO you don't "make" a rat bike. A rat bike is an evolutionary process that takes decades of "That'll do" repairs.
