Finished up all the work on my XJ today and gave it it's name....Herb....after its PO my wifes grandfather. Full carb rebuild, valves done, carbs sync'd, oil changed, clutch adjusted, full front brake job, rebuilt master and caliper, SS lines, EBC pads, new rear EBC shoes, new Shinko 712's, new start button, and blade fuse block upgrade. Gave it a small 10 mile shakedown today after some fresh premium in the tank and all was good. It's been a lot of fun mechanically restoring this thing over the past few months...kinda sad that its over. Anyway got a quick pic of it in the driveway.

Maybe this winter I might do a tear down and try to build something close to this...

Nice job! Well done getting all the safety items done before riding season. Now you can enjoy the ride without worrying about 30 year old brakes. Hope you have many happy miles on it.

Nice work! I'd say it kinda left behind the whole 'herb' name, but it's honorable to name it after the PO and GF in law. Honestly though you know your not done-you've been bit by the bug.

Nice job. Looks clean and ready to go. I really don't like the aftermarked screens. I think they look cheap and destroy the lines on the bikes. Me thinks you need some clubman bars and some new cables perhaps?
