XJ 700 will only run WOT

One of my bikes will run but only with the throttle wide open. As soon as you let of the gas it dies. I was thinking of just rebuilding the carbs but was wondering if there was an easier fix. Maybe the float levels are set wrong?

The carbs were supposedly rebuilt just before I bought the bike but something was apparently done wrong.

Thats what I thought but it never hurts to ask. I got 2 bikes with 3 sets of carbs. Rebuilding and cleaning the other 2 sets and thought the previously "rebuilt" ones would make good spares. I read church of clean at least 3 times before opening the carbs.

 

While you are cleaning take the time to split the rack + do your pilot adjuster o rings, fuel rail o rings, and throttle shaft seals. that way you only do it once.....
