Can't seem to find info on this, and I want to ask the experts on their views about any break in procedures after installing a new head gasket.

I've found some conflicting views on this on the net, but the general concencus leans toward a break in procedure.

I'm no expert but i'm thinking a re-torque of the head after 1000 kms would be probably all thats required...

I would retension after the first warm up and then after 1,000kms.

Mine certainly pulled up quite a bit after the first heat cycle, remember these are older design gaskets, not modern mono-torque style.

I was thinking about the gaskets setting and perhaps improving compression a bit after first heat cycle. But since the cylinders/pistons are unchanged, and the only thing new is the head gasket, I'll settle with a retorque.
