my 1982 xj750 maxim

    I paid 250.00 for the bike from a friend of mine. The only thing it needed was an oil change and I cleaned the carbs. I have changed the headlight, painted the motor gloss black and the tank and other parts of the bike flat black. I also removed the front fender and the back rest. More to come!!!

    yea a friend of mine had it and was going to fix it up but he bought a Honda shadow and sold it to me for the cheap

    How old are the brake lines? (Should be date stamped on the rubber hoses). You don't really want those 30 year old hoses to fail on your while trying to stop on the highway do you?

    Did you check the rear brake for delamination? (It could save your life!!)

    Congrats on the new purchase, but i'm sure it needs stuff done!! Look around and keep reading and you'll find lots of stuff to CHECK on.
