I rode an FJ1200 with nitrous back in the day. Boy was that fun! I wouldn't mind owning one. I will never get rid of my 550 Seca though. It will always be with me no matter how many bikes I have.

1986 eh? Very nice. I'm considering one of those myself, so let me know if you see any good deal locally. I want something close to stock. How many miles does yours have?

It's about 30K on the clock.

They don't seem to come up for sale very often. There is one on CL right now and Sportwheel has a FJ1100 in really good shape, but it has 100,000 miles on it. A testament to Yamaha, I suppose.

    This is the CL one:

Still gotta do the valve clearances though; especially if you want to see 100K.

Sweet! A bud has one that's bored out, "ample" power is definitely an understatement.

He's selling it too, I would buy it in a heartbeat but it seems to usually have something not quite right with it.

I had a buddy who bought Darren Daulton's FJ1100. It has Lynne Austin's face airbrushed on the tank. This thing was b-e-a-utiful!!! He used to let me take in every Sunday morning in the early AM. I lived in Florida at the time and I can't remember enjoying riding more than that bike in that weather as the sun was still below the horizon in the morning glow. Sad part is that he ended up high-siding it and totaling it (*sobbing again thing about it*).

Anyway - enjoy - these are definitely nice bikes is maintained well (like any bike I suppose).
