XJ650 for sale and amusing price/ad

Saw this on the local CL.

Can you believe the asking price? "the only thing it needs is a little carb work." Really? So it doesn't need a front fender, new seat cover, or side panel? So many little things he's done but he hasn't bothered to clean the engine? As is $700 tops.

Another guy has a CB350Four that is nothing but rust listed at $1800!!! "it's all there." Really where are the oh so sought after pipes? Oh yea he's been trying to sell it for over a year now.

It's nice to see how valuable our XJ's are becoming as the years go by.

That ad is quite similar to one that had been on CL up my way a few months back== the guy was asking $2500 for his 650 Maxim that: had a harley seat, cut-off mufflers( that he said sounded really good), carbs 'from a 750', close to "124 hp', pinstriping on the tank, was 'his 2nd bike', and 'most reliable ride, rides it almost all the time', etc........

Funny, I never saw him riding it, and he kept throwing the prices all over the place on CL. I don't know if it sold or not......

Like the guy who was selling a bike in a box for $400 he said everything was there except for the tank and the seat. When I asked for the airbox "gone", muffler? "Sorry not there", gauges? "cant find them", at that point I forgot about it. It's funny how they think they have a full bike but none of the parts you ask for are there.

 

tore back seat , no front fender, beat down paint, oh and the all telling subliminal slip up-new "breaks"!!!! hahahahahahahahha.....and a "little bit of carb work" , i imagine that would mean tear em off, tear em down , ultra sonic blast all the hundred some odd pieces (never counted the parts but theres a bunch) replace a bunch of stuff for a fat stack of cash, then bench synch em , install em and tune em, maybe he just found some really potent lsd, he would have been better off goin with "it runs it just needs a battery"...

 

well it's nice to here our xj's are holding their price [the decent head turners that is] i paid £950 for mine 7years ago no idea what it's worth these days not for sale anyway lol

 

Here is another beauty local to me from craigslist . sweet deal lmao ...look at dash !! no mufflers . Parked under cover ?? i think not i would not pay 30 dollars , but then i have a garage full of parts
