Nice and cheap XJ900 FS

looks like a nice bike. Someone should snatch it up. Way to far away for me

 

Damn! That is a looker!

 

I went and drove that bike last night. It's powerful and all, and in nice shape, but that front end was sluggish to me, compared to my 550. I'd want something that would handle faster. I'm guessing it's the 18" wheel versus, say, the 16" of an FJ100. Not that I HAVE an FJ, but I suspect it might be more what I want.

Too bad - I was hoping to have feeling of love when I saw that XJ900...

 

Did you check the fork air pressure? If the forks are soft, that will do it....... I keep mine pretty firm-- and gotta keep telling myself to rein it in.

BYW, did you get reg. info for me?

What does it mean to be "registered"?

 

Dave keeps a regestry of 83 XJ900's There was only about 1000 in the US in 1983. what it means is that we know where 66 are... and 5 are at Dave's house....

 

......and one of them happens to be the lowest recorded serial number currently known to exist. Low enough to possibly be a First Day production,surely within the first week..............

(also, one hasn't actually quite made it here yet.....it's still slowly crawling across the country to get here)
