Trying to repair some stripped threads...

    The previous owner kinda screwed me (no pun intedned) by stripping out some of the holes where the bolts attach the valve cover to the motor. Is anyone familiar with helicoil or similar? If so, do you know what size kit I would need to fix these particular threads? Or at least what size bolt they are? The bike is currently leaking a small amount of oil because the bolt won't tighten, but it still runs, so I would like to NOT take a bolt out until I have to.

    I have used helicoils before on cars and they seemed to work fine. I cant tell you what size they would be. I would suggest pulling another bole off your valve cover and bringing it with you when you pick up the kit.
