Want to know which motors will work for a straight swap on 82 650 maxim. Having hard time finding a motor or even a running bike local or even online. This is my only ride and need to get done ASAP. Idk if a different year would work or maybe a different size. Like I said I'm looking for plug and play. Maybe if I bought Another size complete bike I could use it on my bobber frame. Thx

    80 to 83 Maxim 650 is a drop-in
82 Seca has a slight shifter location problem

If you "go large" and get a 750 Seca or Maxim you need the ignition and carbs to run right. And more shifter problems.

More complete info in "Information Overload" by Chacal.

    You'll never find a 900. 550's and 1100's are a different animal. Post your city !!

750 ignitor and carbs should be the same, aside from the obvious jetting in the carbs right? I just swapped carbs and TCI from my 650 to my 750 seca, and all I needed to do was swap the 3 main and idle jets and the needles (x4).
