It may not be to your tastes (or mine for that matter), but you have to appreciate the work that went into it. And yes, you will get noticed when out for a ride on that thing.

BTW, did you see the other bike in the background of the last photo? The flag themed one? Interesting...

You mean the one with the "swirly wheels?" It's another 1100 Max, he mentions it in the text of the ad.

Somebody musta got a deal on paint.

Indeed - appreciate the time involved but looks like the color-blind was on the design team.

I would have expected to see at least one "rising sun" design in there somewhere...

Reminds me of those campino hard candy... that or a orange creamsicle...

I don't know. I think the blinding glare would put the rider at great risk, just like when someone is driving into the sun in the eve or morn ...

At least with that bike, if you got hit by a car, you know it was on purpose.

A butchered bike and a major road hazard? And he is asking $1800?!
No way that you could pass inspection to get tags.

No. But if a cop pulled you over, you'd have so many tickets stuck to you, you'd look like that Geico biker with the money stuck to him

Seriously, it's nothing a dozen cans of flat black can't fix. My bike was the most feminine color metallic purple immaginable.....

    BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHH!!!!

That's just... wow. When I saw the first couple pics I was giggling and kind of thinking "well, that's too bad but at least he did nice work" but then when I saw the neon yellow wheel and the ol' stars 'n' stripes it quickly turned to "That MotherF'er!"

At least the guy isn't fooling himself on the price. Seems like a fair deal if it runs out and you're into that sort of thing, I guess.

I always hate to see a good thread ruined by an old broken link so here's the goods for posterity:

    I'm a bit torn.

While it's not a design I would go with, I've never been a big fan of flat (or shiny) black. To me anything I can do to make the bike more visible the better. I'm looking at adding kuryakyn lizard lights just for that purpose. A paint job in a more visible color make sense to me.

Still, I want to ride a motorcycle, not a dreamsicle.

What strikes me is that the paint work in itself seems to bee competent and required a higher than average sill set. Can't be totally sure without a good high resolution picture. And if that's the case, think about how much each of these paint jobs cost. Let alone the time. This thread speaks for itself with regards as to whether people think it is tasteful or gaudy. Certainly not my what I would go for. But, nothing but respect for this guy. Its his bikes and he certainly made them to his liking.

No accounting for taste, and there are plenty of guys to do (other) paint. It's easy to spray if the body is in good shape. Props to him for taking the time and making a "nice" (mechanically excellent one would hope) bike.
