just a quick question, i was thinking about repainting my bike and althought i like the look of chrome if i painted the front fender it would add more color and would give em more to paint. but basically im wondering if i have to strip off teh chrome? and how thats done or if i can just add primer and paint over it? and can the same type of paint be used for plasics (side covers) as metal (tank)

(sorry for the typos; on work computer and doesnt let me see miss spellings)

For something different check out Duplicolor's Metalcast or Shadow line of paints.

As for the plastics and metal, yes you can use the same paint. I did my bike with Krylon Fusion. It was designed for plastics but you can use it on just about anything. the nice thing about a paint made for plastics is that it covers the plastic better, and has much better adhesion without as much surface prep involved.

Go for it dude! To me the color fenders just ties the whole bike together.
I sanded mine till some copper started to show through. Then I used a SELF ETCHING primer, three coats sanding in between. Then color coat to your satisfaction then clear. I did mine 3 year ago and it has not flaked yet.
