Changed rear brake shoes, and front brake pads. Bled the brakes, checked the valve clearance. Need to replace front tire, the tread seems to be separating from the tire.

I took off the tarp yesterday and took an SOS pad to the pipes and such. Wiped it down and started a polish. Left it to air out overnight (it's been very wet and finally drying up). Low and behold it was raining this morning :/

Today I had some issues coming home from work. I had a horrible part throttle stumble. But, as soon as I was past half throttle, it would run just fine. I limped it home and started to go through the carbs. After pulling the filters, I noticed that there was alot of fine NM dirt in the inlet of every carb. I cleaned out the contaminates. Then I noticed that two of my slides were stuck wide open. All that fine dirt prevented the slides from operating freely. After shooting a full can of carb cleaner in all 4 carbs, I was able to free the slides. Now, all is well in the world of XJ bliss.

I guess it's time to invest in some pre-filter covers for the pod filters.

I was running a bit rough so I checked my plugs today...#1 was black and sooty. The other 3 looked ok but maybe a bit rich.

    I wrenched all day.

New Fork Seals and Front Brakes overhauled.
    Putting it together.
    Slowly.

Getting too old for this stuff.

Remounted and synched carbs, (I understand why someone would run pods now). Flailed arms wildly, spouted obscenities until any passers by assume I have tourette's before going inside to escape from bugs and wrap recently finished wire harness.
