I just stumbled across this place this morning while trying to find fork oil specs for my XJ700X.

It looks like a great place with a lot of knowledgeable friendly people. I can see myself spending a lot of time surfing here!

My bike is an 86 that I picked up last year with a fried wiring harness, it has 30k on it and was neglected by the previous owner. It had been stored in a chicken barn after the harness burned, so you can imagine how it looked when I got it. I re-wired it last year and just went through the carbs last weekend, it seems to be running pretty good now. The fork seals are shot, the front pads are soaked and there's oil everywhere. I have a new set of seals coming tomorrow and plan on tackling that job this weekend, I just need to find out the weight and quantity of oil needed. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed!

Welcome, blackplastic! Glad to hear you rescued another XJ from slow death.

This is an awesome site frequented by many helpful and knowledgeable folks. I have benefited greatly from their expertise and experience, and I'm confident you will, too.

Good luck with the fork job!
