I did my colortune adjustment today. OMG. What a difference. The bike has more pep and lets me know now just how bad I need a set of clutch springs. I ended up having to rotate the mixture screws almost all the way counter clockwise. They were set 2 turns from clockwise. They were factory set as I had to remove the caps also.

    I hope this works:

The site I use it www.photobucket.com

It is a free site up to 250 megs. I buy the ptofessional upgrade, which gives you unlimited bandwitch, and 2GB of storage.

One hint, make sure you reduce the size of the files appropriate for mpg online.

Here is one I did, but I reduced the quality a bit too far.

Of course it also does a good job with photographs as well.

There's always YouTube or Google Video.

I thought this thread was going to be about comparing gas mileage before and after :D

I just filled the tank this evening. I will post my results tomorrow as I am taking her on about 100 mile run out of town tomorrow. I was getting about 90 miles to the tank before reserve. The power is a whole bunch better though. The bike isn't even close to as sluggish as it use to be when the old lady rode to work on it tonight. She actually had to hold on once this time.

Well, I went on a 100 mile run Tuesday and as best as I can tell, I lost 10 miles to the gallon by doing my color tune.
My reserve light came on at 81 miles this time.
It was approximately 45 miles one way, 16 miles at 90-95 mph,5 miles stop and go rush hour traffic and the rest just normal 60 mph. I had to refill again when I got back and will post again when I refill and see what I get.

I bought mine used from a local here. I got it in great shape. It didn't have the bottle of cleaning solution with it but it was offered, I just didn't need it ( all it contain is alchol). As you can see from my video's, it worked wonderfully. I figured the same thing about mine. When I noticed the mile per tank dropped, I understood thst I had increased the amount of fuel I was burning. I just didn't expect that much of a drop. 5 mpg. I am the same way in my thinki8ng as BOBC though. It runs so much better it is worth it.

I got my colortune off of ebay at a good price, and the thing was only used once or twice. Looks like new. Not bad for $40 US shipped.

If you are buying off of ebay, just remember to look at the sellers feedback. That will tell a whole bunch about the person.

One thing a colortune will do is keep you from runing lean. Running lean is great for gas mileage but bad for valves, pistons and cylinders. Lean means hot and hot melts metal. Especially internal parts of the combustion chamber where the hot is hottest. Air cooled engines benefit from a slightly rich of peak mixture to keep the engine cooler. So a drop in gas mileage may be just what you needed.

I put the video of my colortune adjustment in my first post. I have the idle, 300rpm and the quick throttle snap.
I am much happier with the performance and not too concerned about the 10 mile drop in fuel mileage per tank I got. The idle is smoother, the power delivery better and the cruising vibration smoother. worth the loss.
