Hey guys wanted to get your take before I dive too deep. when trying to start my motorcycle it will crank but not start all the way. If I try starter fluid it will start up immediately and rev like crazy. I took the filter box out so I could see what's going on. It doesn't look like there is a lot of fuel being drawn out, and while cranking there doesn't seem to be much suction. It almost seems like it is pushing air out of the carburetors not drawing it in to the motor. Any ideas? I already cleaned the carbs. There are new plugs in it too.

Curious how you're determining this? transparent fuel lines? Are you getting fuel into the carb bowls?

I do have a clear fuel line. Also while cranking if I cover the inlet of the carb with my hand it feels like it is blowing instead of sucking. If I open the throttle while cranking and look into the carb I do not see any fuel being drawn out.

I can't explain why it feels like its "blowing" at the inlet. But I've also never tested that so I can't say whether its normal or not.

    But here's the deal:

You should check if you're getting fuel to the bowls.
Their is a drain screw underneath each carb bowl that you can loosen, see if anything comes out.

The float in your carb bowls is what determines when your carbs get fuel. If you're float height is maladjusted or if the needle valve that works with the float isn't working, you may not get fuel flow.

Another possibility is that your fuel petcock isn't working properly. It's vacuum actuated, so double check that you remembered to reattach the vacuum line to the petcock after cleaning your carbs, if not you'll get no flow.

Try setting your petcock to PRIME, with the bike off you should see fuel flow(if your carb bowls are empty) if not, you've got at least one of these problems
