I pulled all the front braking system off of my bike today except the master cylinder because I was worried about breaking out the switch.

I pulled on the small boot to expose the switch body but I couldn't see any evident way to remove it easily. I tried to rorate it without success, and I couldn't see a notch to pry on weith a small screwdriver.

ANy help will be appreciated, with a picture if possible.

Also I had the bad idea of disconnecting the brake lines first and then removing the calipers from the forks, and now both pistons feel like they're stuck in there and I can't pump any brake fluid in the system.

    Suggestions?

By the way, my old lines were made in january 1983. I will cut them to see how they look in there and post some pictures.

The fluid passages in the calipers were horribly dirty, it is very surprising the brakes even worked.

There's a hole underneath where the switch is stuck in the master cylinder housing. The switch has little ears on it that click into the hole. Just push something into that hole and the switch will slide out.

As for your pistons try screwing a grease zerk into the bleeder hole and pump the pistons out with a grease gun.

As requested. The red dotted line indicates the location of the latch hole on the bottom of the casting.

the grease method is MESSY. Tighten your bleeder screw, cut the upper banjo fitting off your line + rig your air compressor to it. Give it some air while heating the caliper with a propane torch.

WARNING!!!! THE PISTON CAN SHOOT OUT WITH DANGEROUS FORCE!!!!!

Thank you guys! I'm a bit surprised that the pistons are stuck because the front brakes felt like they work properly (no lagging) but it seems it was a wrong feeling...

When my (single) caliper locked up, it went from braking fine to stuck in one or two front bake squeezes. Just a matter of a little movement for the grit to take hold of them.

What if I put some water instead of brake fluid in the caliper then put a standard bolt instaed of a banjo bolt on the caliper to cap it tight and bring it to a boil to break the piston free?

On the Seca 900 RK, what is the half of the caliper that hold the piston? Is it the half with the bleed screw? It is stuck in there so far in that I can't see any difference from one half to the other...
