Interoperability of Maxim neutral switches

    So I am in the process of trying to find a neutral switch for my 83 XJ750 Maxim, an endeavour which seems much more difficult than I'd originally thought.

    What range of year/model am I looking at which would be interoperable with my bike? Is it only 82-84 XJ750 Maxims?

    I have only been able to find one place that has them and it looks like it's going to cost $70 to get it to me, which I'm not too keen about.
