82 mxm 750 j I have under my seat a plug with all white wires 4 i think might bebetween the 3 but i noticed while running after installing new spark plugs that the wires and the plug gets hot.The wires are between the airbox and the plastic fender but all the wires are white?I dont have any manuals here (shop had a fire everything is in storage i hope if it made it) otherwise i would have the diagram. Is it normal i havent really paid attention to it before weather they heated up or not.Not sure what they do.Bike runs fine everything works like it should.

Those are the 3 field wires to the alternator. If that plug is hot it means there is a weak connection in there. Take it apart and clean the connections. Cleaning hopefully will help but you might need to replace it. Some good male/female spade connectors soldered on will work. Just insulate them well with electrical tape.

My plug had melted, so I just wound up cutting it out and soldering the wires together.

Some new butt connectors would likely be a good alternative as well. if you manage to get it apart don't forget some nice di-electric grease (or Vaseline) to protect the metal!
