Hi Guys! I'm new here -- what a great resource!!

    I'm currently resurrecting a 1982 XJ750R Seca. Approx 17k miles. I'm the third owner. So far I've:

Bypassed the battery sensor (grounded the wire)
Painted the exhaust -- going to wrap the headers
    Reupholstered the seat
Refurbed the starter (new brush kit)
Painted the handle bars and purchased new grips

(sending it to the shop so they can go through the carbs - and having them look at the fork seals!)

I'm still figuring out how to post pictures -- but I will do that as I go!

    Cheers from Virginia!

Welcome to the Internet, new guy.

I'm anxious to see those pictures.

Best way to get them on is to post them as an attachment, just make sure the longest side of the picture isnt more than 500 pixels.

Rock on mate. I and my 81 550r Seca are new here too. Found something interesting in what you said about the battery sensor. Are you referring to the voltage gauge? It caught my attention because tonight my voltage gauge dropped off; Now I'm wondering if it grounded out??

Not the voltage gauge. Everytime I pop started the bike, the word battery lit up in the display and the warning light flashed at me. Battery was fine, but there was a wire that used to go to the original battery to warn if the fluid was low. Aftermarket batteries didn't have this sensor, so this wire was just hanging there when I discovered it.

The 82 doesn't seem to have a voltage gauge..

best way to post pic is thru a third party site like photobucket......register with photobucket......upload to them & then link here to the pic...that way it keeps original size & resolution.......pics are much clearer that way......

& Welcome.....these are great bikes to keeping running well into the future.....they are worth the expense to maintain.....

I have had mine for 30+ years......
