Just go to xj4ever for the brakes stuff. He only sells quality gear. Tyre threads go on forever and nobody agrees. Just go to your tyre shop get the best you can afford.

Ok thanks, I remember the brakes on the bike being crap 20 years ago so I didn't know if there was specific pads etc people recommended for improvement, I'll check with him....

As for tires kinda the same scenario, I'll spend the money for whatever tire will give me the best grip.

After my accident last year I don't skimp on the safety items anymore ;)

I run Bridgestone Spitfires on my Midnight 650 and on my SR500. I don't ride very aggressively and I live in the coastal region, so not too many hills and banked curves to test grip. So, these work for me.

A couple of years ago, I installed Bridgestone Battlax tires on my son's Seca II. We took it and my VMax to the mountains and HE rode fairly aggressively (VMax don't like the twisties). He seemed to like the grip.

I prefer the EBC sintered pads. Don't like the way the organics stop the bike. They're a little more prone to fading from what I've noticed.
As far as tires, depends on how you ride. The SECA 900 is my "sport touring cycle". I currently run a dual compound rear (Continentals) and super sticky Avon front. Allows good tread life and some serious grippy grippy in deep corners.
