Wanted: Direct bolt on sissybar for my 1983 XJ750 Maxim

    I would like to get a sissybar/backrest for my 1983 XJ750. I don't like the real tall ones. Somebody made a short backrest for these bikes but I cannot find them.

    Yamaha had several different ones on the 750 maxim...

    really short one was just barely as high as the surface of the seat, and was basically flat across.

    regular one was like what is pictured above, and was simply a taller grab bar, but I wouldn't call it a backrest by any stretch of my imagination.

    tall on was about 8-10" taller yet, and had a a backrest pad on it.

    Best bet would be for you to show us a pic of what exactly you're looking for. Then we can help.

    It is 8 to 10 inches tall like you said and has a pad Iin the middle. I have one now that is taller than 8 to 10" but I do not like it. The one that I am in search of attaches to ths stock grab bar just like the picture shows. There was one on ebay recently and I got outbid on it. My phone locked up. :(
