It is with great pride that I announce a major progression in my project. :D It couldn't have been without the members of this forum! When I got the bike, the entire thing was coated with spray paint, it had been dropped so bad the choke lever broke off, curbed so hard the brake disk was warped along with the wheel, run without literally any oil at all for god knows how long, the rear brakes were seized, 120v light switch spliced in for the headlights, had pods, a saddle bag was super glued onto the fender... In short, the bike was a mess. It took a half hour and a half can of starter fluid to even start the bike, and it wouldn't idle unless the throttle was babied. But now, for the first time in years, this bike ran. It started every time, instantly, at the press of a button. Thanks to the kind people of this forum another XJ is staying on the road. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think I have a great bike on my hands. I'm not sure it would be appropriate to name names in thanks, but you all know who you are :D anyways, here's the video: XJ lives again
