    Summary: I moved to Delaware a year ago, but left my '82 xj650 maxim here at my parents... Dad sells my bike, I transfer the title this afternoon, the guy comes to ride it home... starts up with a little help from a battery charger, runs fine for a while.

    Guy gets on to leave, stalls it. Now I have NOTHING, no headlights, no power at all.

    Any ideas or suggestions are so much appreciated, I leave for Delaware again on Sunday and really want to get the bike running again for him.

    Re: EMERGENCY!!

    Number 1 == Fuses.
    Number 1a == Gas.

    Number 2 Safety Circuit Error.

    X2 - fuse or safety circuit.

    i'd imagine if it was a gas issue, it would at least try cranking over and the headlight would work.

    factory fuse box?

    "No power at all ..."

    Fuse.
    Fuse Panel.

    Quick Test:
    Remove Headlamp assy.
    Find Wiring Harness plugged-into Ignition Switch.

    Test RED Wire for +12VDC
    Y/N
    Yes --> Ignition Switch related.
    Turn Switch ON
    Probe other 2 Wires for +12VDC
    Y/N
    Yes --> Ign Sw OK
    Test Kill Switch
    No --> Ign Sw Malfunction

    Test for Ign Sw sent via PM.
    No --> No Current from Batt / Fuse Panel

    Yeah - an "emergency" diagnosis thread like this is useless without the solution.
    Post-up please !!

    My guess is simple........the battery was dead to begin with-the charger got it started. When it stalled, the battery, being DEAD, didn't have any charge in it. So, of course there would be no lights or anything.

    Question is: was there headlights or anything once the charger was hooked back up?
