Wrong fuse panel????

I ordered a new blade fuse panel from BikeBandit but it does not look like it will work. It is a four fuse set up but only has 4 posts to connect spade connectors and one threaded post. Can I make this work or do I need to order a new unit?

 

You could, in theory.

In practice, it's easier to get the correct panel.

 

That is what I thought. I will return this one. Any suggestions on a vendor?? A friend recommended BikeBandit but I am a newbie and wonder if there is a better source.

I know the kind you are talking about. It is a distribution panel with a bus on one side to hook the battery + to. It is for attaching multiple accessories to one feed.

Len (Chacal) sells a fuse panel.

I bought mine from a local auto parts store. Look for a 5-fuse panel with side terminals. They are about $10-$12 just about everywhere.

sure the bulbs are good?
sure wires aren't broken?

works great and even has a 5th slot if you want to add an accessory circuit.

 

It looks crowded underneath....I prefer the in & outs opposite one another for the fuse panel.....picked mine up at Napa.....only no cover & old style, when it wears out in 10 yrs....just buy another....I will screw to air box & place plastic cover over it....

 

Fuse Panels should be:

• Not a Fire Hazard
• Covered
• Securely Mounted away from Frame
• Incapable of being accidentally short-circuited.
• At the very least ... Water resistant

 

bulbs are good. I will just have to trace it down.

 

Try testing the flasher relay, and continuity of all the wires leading up to it. (haynes manual pg 236, section 22, and the chart on 237)


Also try disconnecting the cancelling unit and see if the flashers work manually. (you can also test the cancelling unit (haynes manual pg 236, section 23 (photo 23.3 on pg 237)
