XJ550 Oil hoses

    Can anyone tell me if the oil hoses that go from the sump to the oil cooler (just under the headlamp) on my '82 XJ550 (UK spec.) are the same as an XJ650? As mine are starting to weep oil. :cry:

    I suspect they are probably a different length.

    Yep, I guessed they might be. I've been offered a pair of hoses from an XJ650 as they do look identical in the picture.
    Is there much difference in the chassis and engine dimensions between the 550 and 650 or is it the same power unit just stroked differently?

    It's not the same motor at all. The chain-driven 400/500/550/600 is a much more compact package than the shaft-driven 650/750/900.

    I've got both 550 and 650 Secas (none oil-cooler equipped) but I could grab a few basic measurements when I get home and see just how different they are.
