I just got a good deal on a well used Seca 900, and I was wondering if anyone knew what the compression is supposed to be? I'm going to order the XJ Cd's here in a few days, which would probably tell me what I need to know....but I can't wait that long :D Cylinders 1 & 2 have about 120 psi, cylinders 3 & 4 have around 110-115 psi....kinda low huh? Couple squirts of oil makes it jump up to 150 psi. I got a good deal because it jumps out of first gear if your not gentle on the throttle....but it came with a whole gearset with shift forks out of a good running/shifting 900. She's got 48,000 miles and feelin' a little tired, so I figured if i'm going to split the case to fix the 1st gear pop-out, then I might as well hone the cylinders and throw some fresh rings in there and adjust the valves and hope for the best. Thanks in advance for your help!

That compression is fine but if you're going to have it all apart....why not go for it!

    Good luck.

Thanks BlueMaxim, that thread changed my whole outlook on the situation....I was dreading having to split the cases big time! Also the manual for my 750 says that 120 psi is the min. compression with 143 psi being the norm. I'm assuming there isn't much difference between the two....the bike just seems somewhat sluggish in the upper rpm's. Thanks again for the info
