Are those turbochargers on the back? Why? If it were a jet being run by thrust, why would there be turbochargers?
Am I too stupid to know I've been trolled?

The turbochargers are how the thrust is developed. A jet engine is nothing more than a scaled up turbo where turbocharger is also the combustion chamber. Although that particular build does look scary, it's probably working quite well. Even so, I wouldn't trust someone else's work on a project like that. Based on the turbo size....I think it'll move under it's own power, but not exactly at a quick pace.

Turbochargers and jet engines both cause the movement of air and have rotating parts but similarities pretty much end there and you can't convert a turbocharger into a jet engine. The best I can tell from these pictures is that he intends to run the turbo backwards and expects to get thrust out of the turbo's exhaust inlet. I can see a lot of reasons why this won't work. He'd get a lot more thrust out of a cheap gas leaf blower.

I stand corrected. It does require changing the blades of both sections.

Yep there's a fair bit of work that needs to be done, and it can't just be slapped together.

    No chain.
    Propelled by thrust.

If you taped two 10-foot poles, end-to-end, then handed me the 20-foot pole, ... I still wouldn't touch that thing just to say I did.

And, what are those two blocked-off Turbo's doing slapped-on the end of this thing ... ???

    Let me guess, ...
    After-burners!!!

although an obvious trainwreck, theres no denying that a fair amount of determination, ingenuity, passion, blood, sweat, and tears went into it already.

i give the guy props for at least somewhat following through with an idea!

I've seen two "Jet Bikes" and one "Turbine" Bike ... (a helicopter engine powered 2-wheeler) ... and none of them looked like that.

I think of it more as closer to some kind of Rube Goldberg-esque sculpture than I do any well designed jet propulsion engineering project.

I think it's one for "Snopes".

Spooling down takes too long if you are successful at generating sufficient thrust, and the heat required would also be too close for comfort....I'll pass on that one.

Turbine bike yes, Jet bike..hmmm..only on the salt flats with, heat sheilds and ATGATT x 10!
