blown head gasket xj750mk

    went to the post office today. just a couple of blocks away. went to leave and the head started leaking. :evil: gunna have it rebuild a soon as the wallet says ok.

    What symptoms do you see that leads you to beleive that the head gasket has failed?

    I suspect we're talking valve cover gasket too.

    its leaking below the heads. the valve covers started leaking too. its the corner leaking under the exhaust of #1 cylinder

    It's probably just the valve cover; when it leaks into the spark plug "galleries" it can then drain out around and just under the pipes; there are passages that go through to the front.

    You probably need a new valve cover gasket and new pressure washers ("donuts") for the hold-down bolts.
