Did you fill up the float bowls by running the petcock on prime first?

Try spraying some starter fluid into the airbox. If that doesn't get it going, you are probably not getting any spark. If it does start, you've probably got a fuel delivery issue.

    I'm no guru though...

    I thought so too.

I've got a fuel injected ATV in the shop that didn't run. Fired up on starter fluid.

During testing of the injector system it started running, but then quit later. I decided it was a bad injector. Replaced the injector and it still didn't run. Turned out to be a flaky spark plug.

With a new plug the old injector works just fine.

I was going to suggest a new set of properly gapped NGK D8EA plugs.

Unless, like me recently, you have the TCI unplugged and forgot to plug it back in...

Thanks all, I did fire right up after I left the battery in the charger for about an hour, I guess it didnt have quite enough power to start it up. And thanks to teddytedted got my idle properly set and its running great. Now just need to take it for a test ride!

I see the problem was a weak battery but food for thought; After sitting for the better part of a year, The '81 Seca that I gave to my son would not start. I unplugged and re connected the "ignitor" box and she fired right up.

Nice. Glad to see that it's not just me and I don't have the market cornered on bonehead moves like that.
