I can still think of a few more things to tweak so it's not really complete. Got it back together and running smooth a few weeks ago. Thought I better get a few pics before cold dark winter comes around.

Thank, Fitz. I rate this bike as 60-70% of one your concours d'elegance machines. I'm pleased with it. The fairing is Greer from eBay. I like it way better than the stocker for appearance and weight. The color matched right out of the box.

Wow. Biggest complaint I had with the stock fairing was the weight and how it "attenuated" the steering so much.

Take some pics when the sun is up.

I think there might have been some luck involved with that fairing. That's a "period accessory" that I don't believe is made any more.

My "sport rack" is another such piece; a period aftermarket accessory from a company that got out of the business 20 years ago. I'm still kicking myself for not pouncing on the short-lived opportunity to get a second one at the same time.

There was definitely luck involved on the fairing, both in acquiring it and the color match.

I just thought of something; can't see in the pic.

What'd you do with the originally prominent horns?

The horns are on my to-do list. I know, I know, safety violation. If you ride with the precautionary thinking that no one sees you it's not too much of a stretch to think they don't hear you, horn or not. When I'm riding, my mind is always playing out the scenarios of "what happens if" with other vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles, etc, followed by "my options are". Back in the day in MSF it was called SIPDE (search, interpret, predict, decide, execute). Thumbing the horn has never been on my mental "decide" list simply because it relies on the other driver to hear it and respond appropriately. I do admit, the horn could be used just to warn someone that you are there but I have often witnessed drivers become annoyed/angry when surprised by a horn. In any case, I will get the horns back on and may go with a single unit. I would like to have the horn(s) unobtrusive but still effective from a sound standpoint. These 2 objective may fight each other.

I'm sure there are many that would strongly disagree on my opinions about horns. They're entitled to their own opinions and if they feel safer/more confident having one then by all means that's what they should do.

That was rather a longer answer than I intended.

that would explain why I can not find the fairing on EBay right now, lol.

You might try Maier. They make some fairings that have nice lines (80s bikini fairing) IMO. I haven't seen one live, only online photos, so I can't vouch for the quality.

Daylight pics. There are obvious imperfections but I wasn't aiming for a full resto more mechanical fitness. These are my back-up side covers btw. The fairing looks good from some angles and on others it looks too big, imo.

The fairing sort of looks like the tall/touring version of the EMGO Viper fairing. That is the one I have been looking at, as well as the National Cycle F-16 with is just a flyscreen type.

So, about the horns--- you took them off.

Alrighty then. I had originally thought about moving mine to those mounting holes on the front of the frame just below the steering head. Ultimately, I replaced the huge original units with much smaller yet louder all-black ones from a company called Acumen in England, and left them in the stock positions.

The bike looks fine. Now that it's running right, you can whittle away at the cosmetics and details.

That fairing is so much better looking than the original with its huge overhang of the headlight and the side scoops for the horns.

One thing I've learned with thes ebikes... is if its not one thing, its going to be another. Always going to be upgrading..something. I always end up tooling around on my bike cuz theres nothing else to really do. To be honest, looks like you got quite the clean mint condition bike..

I think more than a little effort went into getting it to that condition.
