I used high temp engine paint on my head and valve cover, but how about on the trans case, and base base of the engine (where my black paint stops)? Can I get away with using regular duplicolor paint? I'm unsure of how hot these parts actually get. I didn't see a temp. rating on the duplicolor cans either.

I personally would use the high temp paint on all of it, if for no other reason than it would match (if you painted the cases black). I think that the oil temps get up around 200-225* but I'm not positive on that.

I think regular duplicolor should be ok. I have used it on a couple of car engines without issue. You need to get it real clean and it should be fine. What fork brace do you have?

hmm I would use the high temp paint, it is just so limited in colors. 225 degrees seems a bit high to use Duplicolor. They don't have temp ratings on their cans, either. So that's no help.

You like my 2" fender? it's stock for an 85' Maxim. I just polished it.
