So I must have given them the wrong part # for my rear tire, because they shipped me a white wall. I got charged for the blackwall, but Bike Bandit won't take returns on tires.

Does anyone happen to know if Krylon will do bad things to the rubber, and if so, where might I be able to find paint suitable for tires?

    I can't stand mismatched tires...

Maybe they would make an exception on this one. If not. Find out who in your local area does recapping of tires. They paint them when they are done capping them. They should have some paint. You may be able to talk them into grinding the white wall off the tire also.

check out Krylon.com. Their satin touch paint says it can be used on rubber, but I don't know how well it would stand up on a tire.

    I'd try acrylic spray paint.
Clean the tire well with alcohol, let it dry, the shoot several light coats until you get the full coverage. Acrylic is plenty flexible & should do no damage to the rubber since it is water based.

A good paint for vinyl interiors should work perfectly, designed to stain the material and remain flexible - although I'd recommend scuffing up the white as best you can with emery or sandpaper to give it something to bite to.

Try Ranger tire paint. I got some white for mine. I dont know if they make black. Search ebay for tire paint.

They charged you for a blackwall but sent a whitewall? Sure sounds to me like whoever packed your order screwed up.

    I'd contact them about it.

MiCarl is right, if they screwed up, they need to make it right.
I would steer clear of using anything paint wise unless it is made for plastic or rubber. The solvents that the paint is suspended in is not good for rubber and I would not risk the tire getting dorked up. I have had tires with overspray on them (nice rattle-can rebuild) with no obvious harm but I'm not keen on the idea.

Well, good news is, I talked to someone else, and the proper tire is on the way... seems whitewalls and black walls have the same part # in their system.

Bad news is, MiCarl and I are going to have to postpone our tire changing as the new tire will take about 2 business days to arrive. But good tips to keep in mind in case I do need to paint plastic/rubber in the future.
