New here... and I need some information

Hi... just purchased an xj550 Seca and want to restore it to original as closely as possible. Currently it is missing the fairing as well as the original 4 into 2 exhaust. Anyone have any suggestions for a supplier for those two items?

but - you're looking for stuff as rare as hen's teeth.

 

They are not quite as rare as hen's teeth, but sometimes difficult to find. Lucky for you there are several listed on EBAY at the moment.

The original exhaust is difficult to come by in good shape although they are around. The fairings pop up on ebay somewhat regularly. The right side cover is the rarer item.

Depending on your budget, you might want to hold off on the fairing and put the money into other essentials the bike probably needs (brake work, valve shims, misc gaskets, tools....) Depends on the condition of the bike too, of course.

Ebay is your friend when it comes to the harder to find parts, you just need to search regularly & search similar terms for mis-listed items as well (my fairing was listed as XJ600) and what you need will eventually turn up in the condition & price range you need. Also for more "regular" and service parts our very own Len Chacal of XJ4Ever is the best bet

Not bad AT ALL for $99 ... Now all we need is for the forum's community spirit to shine through & one of the guys near the border to chime in with a solution.

If I wasn't 3000 miles away I'd offer to do it by way of thanks/putting something back in, for all the help I've had from the forum.

 

Maybe you could ship it to MiCarl's "Powersports" shop, (in Michigan)
then relay it on to Canada (for a small fee, of course)

I live in Michigan, about 1/2 hour due west from Sarnia, ON.

You could gave it shipped to me, and I would be happy to re-ship to Ontario but it will likely be rather expensive. I'm familiar with the customs/paperwork stuff involved; the easiest way to go is the Post Office but like I said it won't be cheap.

Now those ^^^ are one of the main reasons I'd say so many people love this forum & Yamaha's XJ series... They seem to attract the most fantastic, knowledgeable, generous & downright decent people in biking. Kinda the antidote to Harleys? :lol:

Thats a smokin deal though, I paid 50 for the headers and collector alone, and am STILL in need of a right side muffler thats not all banged up

 

Hey everyone... it is a smoking deal, and I have attempted to purchase it through ebay however because of my canadian address I am unable to even purchase it with the intention of sending it to an address in the States. So, I guess that exhaust is fair game to anyone who wants it!
