I ordered some grips and they are a bit shorter than the old grips.
They fit except I will have to shorten the trottle sleeve.
    Does it matter?
Is it a good idea to shorten the sleeve?

How much shorter? It is normal to be about 1/4 inch shorter and they should have came with foam spacer or something simular.

Is the throttle sleeve rubber or plastic? Are you sure you removed the grip sleeve from the previous grip. I measured mine and it is 6". If they were a multiple piece grip, foam of fancy metal, they should have had an inner liner. The only other thing I can think of is maybye they are motocross grips. I have no experience with motocross so it is just an opinion,

    You need "SuperBike" length grips.

Rather than shopping the Motorcycle Ads for new grips ... take a look at what the -- Bicycle Aftermarket -- has to offer in the length and diameter you need.

You might find a set of liqua-gel grips that would fit the bike.
Something to eliminate wrist and fist fatigue.
