Maybe should have said "re-buildable". If there are no broken post, no stripped holes and no holes in the bodies the rest can be replaced. Break the rack, couple days in Evaporust (I'm sold on the stuff), lemon juice boil and a parts order to Len should make a decent rack. I'd give $50 for the lot.

that parts order will run you around $250-300. ad that to the purchase price and then you will have a set of carbs in "good working order".

    cyclenoob,

You're probably right. I was just saying that members here can rebuild that rack to actual "good working order". Most of us know the "hat trick" to these bikes is to learn how and keep the carbs set up correctly. Also, most of us wouldn't buy that rack as a primary unless we unknowingly bought a bike with a non-stock rack on it and a WTB thread didn't turn one up which it probably would. I said I'd give $50 for it. 50 bones for a parts rack...I'd do it.

agreed. ads like this can be very misleading. as it is written, the buyer has no idea what they are actually buying, and the seller seems to be in the same boat.

In the case of my bike, when I drove over to the PO's house, "good working order" apparently applied when a battery was actually IN the bike. Not to mention the fact that he had to give her a running start for 6 house lengths down the street. In flip flops. Not that flip flops have to do anything with "good working order."
