This is why I didn't go for a ride today.

Thanks. In the few moments I had my gloves off to take the pictures my fingers really got cold. Real fast.

I used to use a bulb when I was taking wintertime photos so I could keep my gloves on. Of course I was using film too, and had a limited amount of shooting time before the film would get too brittle to work with.

I took these with my phone so a bulb or cable release was not really an option.

It was -4 this morning and they cancelled school because of the cold. We're raising a generation of wimps. Kids need to learn how to dress in the winter instead wearing shorts, sneakers and hoodies.
When I was a kid, school was NEVER closed because of the cold. The snow had to be butthole deep to a giraffe to get a 2-hour delay.
And yes, I walked 4 miles to school...uphill...both ways. LOL

When I fired up the Wabbit this morning, the dashboard display said -10. It's currently a balmy 0 degrees (F) right now.

It was -14 a week ago Thursday, IIRC.

I love my heated seats. And my Continental tires, traction control and electronic stability package.

nice pictures! east tenn. has been hit with over 5 inches of snow and 8 degrees this morning. Road conditions are terrible. Nice to know it will melt in a couple days and 50's by the weekend! :D

Here the grass is growing and the first spring flowers are popping up. It's been about a the mildest winter I recall.

If my bike wasn't in a hundred pieces I WOULD be riding.

That's 'cuz you sent it all to us! Northern Minnesota for 2013 had the most snowfall for 180 year, and January set some records for number of sub 0 degree days. Most of the schools will have to go at least 2 days longer to make up for the number of emergency days taken in the past two months.

All this and the only thing I can think of is getting Max back on the road. I hope we get an early spring!
