Did you tell the new owner to join XJBikes? That way you'll know that your baby is being taken care of.
BTW, the bike looks really good.

i did actually, i told him the web site and also how it was an essential part of owning a XJ, that is if you want to learn the bike backwards and forwards, i didnt post here much because just about everything i needed to know has been asked before,, i was a bit sad to see it on the back of a ute, never to be seen again, but in a week or so my mint 1st generation 1998 red and white yamaha R1 should be here, all will be well, once it arrives i will post up a couple of pics for the die hard YAMMY fans,, by the way they go like the clappers.

    So I just Googled up the first-gen ('98 ~ '99) R1 and you're not fooling anybody.

There's an XJ under there; the "X" motor, yes; but you can see the XJ lineage. A stroll through the microfiche confirmed it.

Bet that's a load off your mind. It's sad that Yamaha can't make a motorcycle worth a f.

He replaced it with another Yamaha. A direct descendant of the XJ. It even has CV carbs.

Like the rest of us, he doesn't share your opinion of Yamaha. This is a Yamaha forum after all.

only the fj and the r1 are registered, i wont renew the r1, i take them out once a fortnight to keep the oil moving around , lotso quiet back streets around, ,
the old triumph (72 bonne) isnt going at the moment , its a fairly sweet bike, i just need to hook up the throttle cables and fine tune it, this pic was taken just after i painted the side covers aND chain guard, im a collector i think.

Ah, very nice, i've got a 62 Triton. Highly recommend britbike.com and the triiumphrat site. Lots of good knowledge on those two...

ken007, you have far too many toys. I think you should package one up and send it to me. I'll give it a good home. I promise.
